BCCS and Church on Main Provide Free Access to Substance Abuse Resources in Middletown

Dennis Broomell grew up in Delaware City, but he remembers going to Middletown with his friends when they needed drugs.

So when the pastor from Church on Main in Middletown came to Brandywine Counseling and Community Services – where Broomell is now a program coordinator –and expressed concerns about opioid addiction issues in the fast-growing town, Broomell was not surprised.

“When he spoke to us about the need in Middletown, it really matched what I grew up knowing about Middletown,” Broomell said. “Middletown is an old soul town, but as it continued to build up, and of course as you build up cities, you get more crime and more drugs.”
