National Recovery Month

Observed since 1989, Recovery Month increases the awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders, celebrates individuals living in recovery, and lauds the contributions of treatment/service providers who make recovery possible. Recovery Month spreads the message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and
people can and do recover. Recovery Month events held across the country share real-life stories of recovery. Recovery Month also produces the Road to Recovery television and radio series.
