October is National Depression Education & Awareness Month

Depression is one of the most common diseases and can affect anyone. It’s also one of the most misunderstood because we all have times when we feel down. But when persistent feelings of sadness affect the way a person thinks, acts, sleeps, or eats, and those feelings last for more than two weeks, it could be depression. Depression is not something you just get over or a feeling that you can change. It’s a disease, and as with any disease, getting better starts by talking to your doctor or other healthcare provider.
